BETIO ISLAND, TARAWA ATOLL, KIRIBATI— Cpl. Christy Barron picks up trash during a beach cleanup, June 14, 2017, on Betio Island, Tarawa Atoll, Kiribati. The cleanup took place during a week of training where Marines and Sailors trained and shared ideas with the Kiribati Police Maritime Unit to develop a more capable, well-rounded police force. Barron, a Houston, Texas, native, is an ammunition technician with Combat Logistics Battalion 3, Combat Logistics Regiment 3, 3rd Marine Logistics Group, III Marine Expeditionary Force, currently deployed to Koa Moana 17.
