GALLE, Sri Lanka (June 14, 2017) Fire Controlman 2nd Class Dylan Bagdasarian assigned to the Ticonderoga-class guided missile cruiser USS Lake Erie (CG 70) plays soccer with a child from the Mallika Nawodya School. Lake Erie is in Sri Lanka to support humanitarian assistance operations in the wake of severe flooding and landslides that devastated many regions of the country. Recent heavy rainfalls brought by a southwest monsoon triggered flooding and landslides throughout the country, displacing thousands of people and causing significant damage to homes and buildings.
