An F-22 Raptor from the 3rd Wing, U.S. Air Force Reserves, escorts the 176th Wing, Alaska Air National Guard’s newly acquired HC-130J “Combat King II” aircraft on its return journey to Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson, Alaska, June 3. Two Raptors were training for an intercept mission in the area, when they seized the opportunity to “intercept” the HC-130J in conjunction with their training requirements, and then provided the Combat King II with an escort back to JBER.
