Sergeant Major of the Armed Forces, Sgt. Maj. Salem Bani Mustafa presents the ceremonial sword before Jordan Armed Forces-Arab Army (JAF) soldiers during the first-ever JAF change of responsibility ceremony on May 14, 2017, in Amman, Jordan. The ceremony represents the professional duty of the Sergeant Major of the Armed Forces to be the senior enlisted representative of the JAF to the Chairman and the continuing professionalization of the JAF NCO corps. Salem said the ceremony would, “Start a new tradition for our military… Today marks the milestone that the Jordan military has taken in developing our NCO code."
