Arabian Gulf (Dec. 12, 2006) - Globie, the Harlem Globetrotter's mascot, holds up a trophy for the winner of a race between two Sailors aboard the Nimitz-class aircraft carrier USS Dwight D. Eisenhower (CVN 69) during a Morale, Welfare and Recreation (MWR) sponsored basketball game. The Globetrotters visited IKE as part of their 21-day tour of the Middle East in an effort to show their thanks to the men and women of the armed services for the sacrifices they make to defend freedom in the area. IKE and embarked Carrier Air Wing (CVW) 7 are on a regularly scheduled deployment in support of Maritime Security Operations and Operation Iraqi Freedom.
