Marines use a map to navigate at Jungle Warfare Training Center, Camp Gonsalves, Okinawa, Japan, May 17, 2017. The unit patrolled through the woods, conducted medical evacuations and assaulted enemy villages during their 12-day training iteration. This training prepared them for their upcoming deployment to Thailand and the Philippines in support of the Cooperation Afloat Readiness and Training multilateral exercise. The Marines are with Company K, 3rd Battalion, 8th Marine Regiment and are assigned to 3rd Marine Division, III Marine Expeditionary Force, through the unit deployment program.
