    15th Marine Expeditionary Unit

PACIFIC OCEAN – Gunnery Sgt. Jesse Ford, the assistant combat cargo chief and Sailors with the deck department aboard USS Pearl Harbor (LSD 52) raise the hook catcher in order to attach it to empty pales that belong to the USNS Henry J. Kaiser (T-AO-187) from a vertical replenishment mission during Composite Training Unit Exercise, May 11, 2017. The capability of resupplying at sea gives the 15th Marine Expeditionary Unit and the America Amphibious Ready Group the necessary mobility and sustainability to maintain an asymmetric advantage over adversaries. During COMPTUEX, the 15th MEU and AMAARG will exercise a wide range of capabilities from disaster response and maritime security operations to sea control and complex warfighting.
