170511-N-ZW825-007 SOUTH CHINA SEA (May 11, 2017) Ensign Joseph Terranova, a Melrose, Massachusetts native, and Ensign Michael Quinones, a San Diego native, create stationing maneuvering boards aboard Arleigh Burke-class guided-missile destroyer USS Sterett (DDG 104) during a divisional tactics exercise with Republic of Singapore ship RSS Intrepid (FFS 69), Royal Thai Navy ship HTMS Naresuan (FFG 421), and Independence-class littoral combat ship USS Coronado (LCS 4) in support of the Cooperation Afloat Readiness and Training (CARAT) multilateral exercise. CARAT is a series of annual maritime exercises aimed at strengthening partnerships and increasing interoperability through bilateral and multilateral engagements ashore and at sea.
