Team Moody and local community attendees participate in the induction of “Flying Tiger Oak” into the Live Oak Society, April 28, 2017, at Moody Air Force Base, Ga. This tree is one of approximately 8,300 nationally registered live oaks across 14 states, known for its prestigious tradition, location and size. Dr. Lucy Greene, Moody Support Committee executive director, reached out to community leaders about getting the tree recognized, which was accepted for its significance of pre-dating Moody AFB and being symbolic of the communities’ bond.
