A front-facing view of a military jet aircraft on a runway or tarmac, photographed through a spinning propeller that creates motion blur in an X-pattern across the frame. A single pilot wearing a flight helmet and oxygen mask is visible in the cockpit. The overcast, hazy conditions and low-angle perspective create a dramatic, atmospheric composition.

An Iraqi air force student pilot prepares to taxi during a training mission, Sept. 26, at Tikrit Air Base. The pilots are learning to fly the T-6 Texan II and also become instructor pilots to train future Iraqi air force pilots. U.S. Air Force instructor pilots are training and advising the first group of Iraqi air force instructor pilots on the T-6A Texan II as part of the advise, train, assist and equip mission of Operation New Dawn. Once qualified the Iraqi air force pilots will become instructor pilots and continue to train the next generation of pilots.
