The SparkX Cell Innovation and Idea Center has been using creative ways to enhance the skills of Airmen and improve units on Joint Base Andrews by allowing personnel to chase after innovative solutions since January 25, 2019.
The Andrews Spouses’ Club, a non-profit organization, promotes outreach to military members and their families, as well as to organizations which benefit service members.
On June 14, 2021, Joint Base Andrews experienced a large thunderstorm that created a sinkhole and partially collapsed Taxiway Echo. This required the 316th Civil Engineer Squadron to swiftly perform an emergency response to restore the taxiway to fully mission capable on a sensitive military installation responsible for presidential-level operations.
Tech. Sgt. Jules Ponton, 316th Force Support Squadron manpower analyst and now a part of the Education with Industry program, was awarded a Black Belt Certification in continuous process improvement on Feb. 16, 2022, here.
