Petty Officer 1st Class Oliver Simon, a boatswain's mate with USS Ponce, gives a thumbs up to awaiting swimmers on the flight deck of USS Ponce during a steel beach picnic, Oct. 16, 2010. The picnic was held to boost moral, increase camaraderie and offered fishing, swimming and other sports activities. The 26th Marine Expeditionary Unit is currently embarked aboard the ships of Kearsarge Amphibious Ready Group operating in the 5th Fleet area of responsibility.
