170404-N-RP435-007 NATIONAL HARBOR, Md., (April 4, 2017) Lt. Cmdr. Dave Ziemba, Arctic Affairs Officer, Task Force Climate Change explains how the Navy uses Littoral Battlespace Sensing Unmanned Underwater Vehicles (LBS-UUVs) to gather information from the ocean to assist in maritime operational decision making. The LBS-UUV is made up of two vehicle types, a glider and an autonomous undersea vehicle. They improve the coverage, accuracy and precision of environmental characterizations over conventional data collection methods. PEO C4I participated in Navy League's Sea-Air-Space Exposition as part of the Navy Information Warfare Pavilion. PEO C4I and its partner program offices provided four demonstrations including the LBS-UUV, a program managed by the Navy’s Battlespace Awareness and Information Operations Program Office.
