WILLIAM FEW PARKWAY LANDFILL, Appling, Ga., March 24, 2017 – Army Cpl. Stacey Brown, a 124th Mobile Public Affairs Detachment broadcast journalist, Georgia Army National Guard, works in the woods as Jamie Atkins, a U.S. Forest Service Fire Manager, Sumter National Forest, cuts down a tree for Georgia Army National Guardsmen to practice removing from a road during Vigilant Guard 17. The purpose of the Vigilant Guard exercise is for state, local and federal agencies to partner with the Georgia Guard with the intent of sharpening their disaster response efforts.
