Sgt. Kevin Averre and an Iraqi army soldier examine a target during M-16 weapons training this summer. Averre and other troops from the Enhanced Combat Aviation Brigade, 1st Infantry Division trained Iraqi soldiers on the weapon in a continued effort to replace the Iraqi military’s arsenal of AK-47 rifles with newer M-16s.
