Col. Damon Cluck, Director of Military Support, Arkansas National Guard, holds his KIA wristband with the names "SGT Russell 'Doc' Collier and SSG Chris Potts", as he addresses an audience of veterans during the 2nd annual 50th anniversary celebration commemorating the return of Vietnam Veterans from war on March 28, at the Ft. Roots VA Medical Center in North Little Rock, Ark.

Collier and Potts were both killed in action on Oct. 3, 2004 near Camp Taji, Iraq.

Collier was posthumously awarded the Silver Star for gallantry in action. The citation accompanying Colllier's medal reads "For gallantry in action against an enemy of the United States on 03 October 2004 in vicinity of Taji, Iraq. With his Squad Leader seriously wounded Sergeant Russell Collier, Battery Medic, advanced under enemy fire in order to render aid. His unselfish actions under direct enemy fire led to his own mortal wounds. By his outstanding bravery and courage, Sergeant Collier served to inspire all who observed him and upheld the highest traditions of the Armed Forces of the United States of America."
