Five women are standing in a large hotel ballroom or conference facility, participating in what appears to be a team-building or networking activity involving yarn or string. One woman in the center has her arm raised, having just thrown a ball of yarn upward, with multiple strands of string crisscrossing between the participants. A banner in the background references 'Boot Camp' and 'Breakfast', suggesting a professional development event.

Mary Penn tosses a roll of yarn across the room during an exercise at the First Army Family Leadership Conference here. Penn, the wife of Brig. Gen. Kendall W. Penn, Deputy Commanding General, First Army Division East, attended the conference as a family delegate. The actualization exercise enlightened the group to the fact that if just one person drops their part of the string the strength and resiliency of the entire weaving is compromised, an analogy showing that it takes the full participation of everyone in any project for the mission to succeed.
