Mr. Jerry Perez, Deputy Direction of Profession of Arms of Excellence, San Antonio, Texas, talks about professionalism and core values to participants of the Operational Contract Support Joint Exercise-17, March 15, 2017, at Fort Bliss, Texas. Pace spoke to the attendees about how our Profession of Arms requires unique expertise to fulfill our collective responsibility to the American people. He defined professionalism as who we are as a military; how we conduct ourselves and live our lives; and it sets the standards to which all service members are expected to adhere and exceed. Professionalism is about learning to lead oneself; it is not just about what we do but also how we do it. With nearly 450 service members and civilians from across the DOD and United Kingdom are participating in OCSJX-17. Participants will test their skills and hone their abilities in tactical- and strategic-level scenarios focusing on total force integration for contingency readiness and improve their OCS capabilities.
