Moroccan special operations forces personnel get hands-on experience with a Next Generation Loudspeaker System, 6 March 2017 during Exercise Flintlock 2017. The loudspeaker system is used in military information support operations for a variety of purposes, ranging from passing coordinating information to a civilian population during a natural disaster or humanitarian crisis intervention, to giving enemy combatants the chance to surrender prior to an assault element’s actions on the objective. MISO actions are centered on the principal idea that human will is guided by information, perceptions and beliefs. MISO operators support a commander’s mission by helping to gain a population’s support and by degrading enemy influence capabilities. (U.S. Marine Corps photo by Sgt. Scott Achtemeier, released)
