The change of command ceremony for Joint Base Anacostia-Bolling in Washington, D.C. was held Feb. 24, 2017 at the Bolling Club. During the ceremony, Navy Capt. Clyde F. Mays, Jr. was relieved by Capt. Jose L. Rodriguez. Mays, a native of Hickory, North Carolina, served as JBAB commander from March 2014 until February 2017. The ceremony concluded with the traditional Navy retirement poem, “The Watch,” which paid homage to the guidance, leadership, friendship, and expertise Mays gave during his 34 years of active duty service.
