Navy Capt. Clyde F. Mays, Jr. (middle) salutes the American Flag during his change of command ceremony for Joint Base Anacostia-Bolling in Washington, D.C., Feb. 24, 2017 at the Bolling Club. Mays, a native of Hickory, North Carolina, served as JBAB commander from March 2014 until February 2017. He was the third base commander since its inception in 2010. He was relieved by Navy Capt. Jose L. Rodriguez (right) of Queens, New York. The two-part ceremony also included a retirement ceremony for Mays, honoring his 34 years of active-duty service.
