Staff Sgt. Gregory Hyson (guitarist), Spc. Myron Zenker (drummer) and Spc. Brian Mackie (bassist), members of Controlled Detonation, a musical support team with the 1st Infantry Division Band, rehearse a few songs in their band hall on Contingency Operating Base Basra Sept. 2. The 1st Inf. Div. Army Band arrived in Basra, Iraq, in January with 43 musicians. Now, the band has 14 musicians since the drawdown of U.S. forces in Iraq.
