    A 3-D printer at NAWCAD Lakehurst uses a laser to fuse a layer of metallic powder to create titanium parts at Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst, New Jersey, Feb. 8, 2017. When the printer finishes a layer, new metal is added and the next layer up begins.
