Pfc. Daniel Barker, a Quincy, Ill., native and a mechanic in the 3rd ESC, pounds in a tent stake to help hold the JOC tent in place during the 3rd ESC’s TOCEX on Fort Knox, Aug. 23-26. Barker is one of 70 3rd ESC soldiers the command has chosen as an early deployer, if the unit were to be notified for a short-notice deployment.
