ANTARCTICA (Jan. 28, 2017) Navy Cargo Handling Battalion ONE (NCHB-1) Sailors and New Zealand Defense Force Soldiers inspect and prepare rigging that will be used to lift cargo off MV Ocean Giant in support of Operation DEEP FREEZE 2017. NCHB-1 is deployed to to the National Science Foundation (NSF) McMurdo Station, there less than one percent of the world's population has ever visited, as part of Operation DEEP FREEZE the military's logistical support component of the U.S. Antarctic Program (USAP), the nation's research program on the southernmost continent.
