Recruits from Fox Company, 2nd Recruit Training Battalion, execute log squats during the Crucible at Marine Corps Base Camp Pendleton, Calif., Jan. 4. Recruits had to work as a team during the 54-hour event to accomplish every task given to them by their instructors and drill instructors. Annually, more than 17,000 males recruited from the Western Recruiting Region are trained at MCRD San Diego. Fox Company is scheduled to graduate Jan. 13.
