Recruits from Fox Company, 2nd Recruit Training Battalion, move from one training exercise to another during the Crucible at Marine Corps Base Camp Pendleton, Calif., Jan. 4. Throughout training recruits hiked, patrolled, and marched as a platoon, eliminating individualism and creating a sense of unity. Annually, more than 17,000 males recruited from the Western Recruiting Region are trained at MCRD San Diego. Fox Company is scheduled to graduate Jan. 13.
