Sgt. 1st Class John A. Cline (left), the non-commissioned officer-in-charge of the 2nd Battalion, 38th Cavalry Regiment, Long Range Surveillance, Airborne Ranger Assessment Program prepares candidates from the 1st Cavalry Division for a 5 mile run July 27. All participants must complete this hill infested course in less than 40 minutes. At the week's conclusion these candidates will have completed the exact same training that every Ranger school applicant completes their first week of Ranger School.
