U.S. 5TH FLEET AREA OF OPERATIONS (Dec. 8, 2016) Marines with Company C, Battalion Landing Team 1st Bn., 4th Marines (BLT 1/4), 11th Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU), hike 4.5 km to an inland forward operating base as part of Exercise Alligator Dagger, Dec. 8. While present in the U.S. 5th Fleet area of responsibility, Marines with BLT 1/4 will work to refine and rehearse their ability to conduct amphibious and land-based skills to include: helo-borne raids, amphibious assaults, tank and convoy operations, combat marksmanship, and tactical movements.
