161130-N-ON468-004 PEARL HARBOR (Nov. 30, 2016) Military service members and civilian contractors attend a Humanitarian Assistance Response Training (HART) course Nov. 30 at the Ford Island Conference Center in Pearl Harbor. The HART course prepares U.S. military commanders and their staffs to respond more effectively during civilian-led humanitarian assistance and foreign disaster response missions. The four-day operational-level course focused on applying the military planning and decision-making process to the unique circumstance associated with a foreign humanitarian assistance operation. Participants employed realistic scenarios and existing plans to develop a concept of operations for a joint task force response to a major disaster.
