Vermont Gov. Jim Douglas talks with U.S. Army Sgt. 1st Class Dwight D. Harrington, Barre, Vt., resident and brigade historian for the 86th Infantry Brigade Combat Team (Mountain), during a visit to Afghanistan July 24. Douglas met with soldiers from Vermont currently deployed in Afghanistan. Douglas is here as part of a Department of Defense sponsored governors’ delegation tour with four other state governors to visit deployed soldiers from their home states and receive briefings about the coalition forces’ mission in Afghanistan.
