The Japanese and American flag fly in the wind during the playing of both national anthems before the 23rd Boy Scouts of America-Scout Association of Japan Friendship Jamborette Nov. 5-6 aboard Camp Kinser, Okinawa, Japan. This year’s theme was “BP Spirit,” channeling the spirit of the founder of the scout movement, British Royal Armed Forces Lieutenant General Robert Baden-Powell. The BP spirit was in full effect throughout the weekend as the scouts completed numerous events, such as fire ignition and a team pulley challenge, which tested their survival skills, teamwork, and leadership abilities.
