During a medical lane exercise as part of the Soldier and NCO of the Quarter competition, Sgt. Johnathan Powell, a medic assigned to Company B, Division Special Troops Battalion, 1st Armored Division, and a native of Atlanta, Ill., drags a casualty to safety after he extracts him from a Humvee. The simulation tested Soldiers’ ability to treat casualties and prepare them for evacuation. “Wounded” Soldiers and medical NCOs added to the stress of the participants with screaming and yelling during the exercise at Camp Liberty June 28.
