U.S. Marine Col. Thomas Prentice, commanding officer of Special Purpose Marine Air-Ground Task Force – Southern Command, awards Sgt. Adwin Esters, public affairs correspondent with SPMAGTF - SC, the Joint Service Achievement medal for directing and organizing public affairs and combat camera specialist from multiple organizations and coordinated and assisted with the joint release of more than 500 images, 45 video packages, and numerous stories in support of Joint Task Force Matthew in the aftermath of Hurricane Matthew during an award ceremony at Soto Cano Air Base, Honduras, Oct. 27, 2016. JTF Matthew, a U.S. Southern Command-directed team, was comprised of over 400 Marines, soldiers, and airmen on the ground in Haiti supporting the U.S. Agency of International Development’s disaster relief operations by providing critical airlift capabilities during the vital early stages after the island country was struck by Hurricane Matthew.
