    Amphibious assault ship USS Iwo Jima (LHD 7) sailing off the northern coast of Haiti. Iwo Jima and the 24th Marine Expeditionary Unit are providing disaster relief and humanitarian aid to Haiti following Hurricane Matthew. JTF Matthew was a U.S. Southern Command lead humanitarian assistance, disaster relief effort in Haiti following Hurricane Matthew. Matthew was a category 4 hurricane that formed in the Western Atlantic Ocean and affected Haiti, eastern Cuba, and the Bahamas before moving up the southeast coast of the United States.
