    Task Force Hurricane Soldiers Complete French Desert Survival Course

    U.S. Army Staff Sgt. Juan Grisales and Sgt. 1st Class Servio Tiffer, 1st Battalion, 124th Infantry Regiment, and the rest of their team complete the first obstacle during a timed-water obstacle event as part of the French Marines Desert Survival Course at Arta Plage, Djibouti, Oct. 10, 2016. Approximately 46 U.S. Soldiers with French Marines completed several tasks during the survival course, including desert operations, combat lifesaving skills, weapons training, survival cooking, how to decontaminate water, and water and mountain obstacle courses. Combined Joint Task Force-Horn of Africa is a multinational effort to conduct theater security cooperation, combat violent extremism and enable freedom of movement within East Africa in order to defend U.S. interests and support aligned regional efforts.
