Air Cav surveys damage from Hurrican Ike

UH-60 Blackhawks assigned to Co. A. 2-227th Aviation Regiment, 1st Air Cavalry Brigade, 1st Cavalry Division, line up Sept. 23 on the runway of Scholes International Airport, preparing to survey the Galveston, Texas area, eight years after Hurricane Ike. Immediately after Hurricane Ike, the Scholes International Airport was in eight feet of water. The survey was to help bridge the gap between the Army Corps of Engineers, FEMA and local agencies so, they could see the efforts made and progress of the land since the hurricane destroyed the area and forced thousands of families out of their homes
