ARABIAN GULF (Oct. 2, 2016) Petty Officer 2nd Class Brandon Kersten, from Hot Springs, Ark., removes corrosion from a main rotor blade of an MH-60R Sea Hawk helicopter assigned to the Swamp Foxes of Helicopter Maritime Strike Squadron (HSM) 74 in the hangar bay of the aircraft carrier USS Dwight D. Eisenhower (CVN 69) (Ike). Kersten serves aboard Ike as an aviation structural mechanic and helps inspect, repair and maintain aircraft. Ike and its Carrier Strike Group are deployed in support of Operation Inherent Resolve, maritime security operations and theater security cooperation efforts in the U.S. 5th Fleet area of operations.
