CAGAYAN VALLEY, Philippines – A U.S. Marine engineer with Bravo Company, 9th Engineer Support Battalion, 3d Marine Logistics Group, III Marine Expeditionary Force, and a Philippine Navy builder weld to help restore a section of San Vicente Elementary School during the engineering civic assistance for Philippine Amphibious Landing Exercise 33 (PHIBLEX) Sept. 28, 2016. PHIBLEX is an annual bilateral exercise conducted with the Armed Forces of the Philippines. The exercise combines amphibious capabilities and live-fire training with humanitarian civic assistance efforts to strengthen interoperability and working relationships through commitment, capability and cooperation.
