CAGAYAN VALLEY, Philippines – A U.S. Marine engineer with Bravo Company, 9th Engineer Support Battalion, 3d Marine Logistics Group, III Marine Expeditionary Force, welds alongside a Philippine Navy builder to construct a support system for the San Vicente Elementary School during the engineering civic assistance project for Philippine Amphibious Landing Exercise 33 (PHIBLEX) here Sept. 27, 2016. PHIBLEX is an annual bilateral exercise conducted with the Armed Forces of the Philippines. The exercise combines amphibious capabilities and live-fire training with humanitarian civic assistance efforts to strengthen interoperability and working relationships through commitment, capability and cooperation.
