Marines from 2nd Light Armored Reconnaissance Battalion head out to simulate a battalion coil on a Light Armored Vehicle 25 during a combined weapons range at Camp Lejeune, N.C., Sept. 20-21, 2016. A battalion coil is formed when all of the vehicles in play line up in a row to attack any oncoming enemy. The training increased the Marines’ proficiency on various weapons platforms and improved their tactical mindset. Instead of focusing on one skill, this training combined multiple weapon systems and vehicles to show the Marines how to use each asset effectively and accomplish the mission.
