The General Use Shelter (GUS) system belonging to the California National Guard serves as shelter to hundreds of homeless veterans during the East Bay Stand Down on Sept. 15, 2016, in Pleasanton, California. The tents provided places to rest and receive life-care services during the Bay Area's annual homeless veteran outreach event from Sept. 15-18 at the Alameda County Fairgrounds.
