Cryptologic Technician 3rd Class Joshua Garcia (left), from Kailua, Hawaii and Cryptologic Technician Seaman Baylen Hart, from Williamsburg, Virginia both attached to Naval Information Operations Command met Actor Gary Sinise during a meet and greet event at the Coronado Speed Festival held in conjunction with Fleet Week 2016. Known as the “Race at the Base” the Coronado Speed Festival held at Naval Air Station North Island is one of San Diego’s most successful fundraisers for the military and is an opportunity for the public to visit the base and interact with Sailors and Marines. Fleet week offers the public an opportunity to meet Sailors, Marines, and members of the Coast Guard and gain a better understanding of how the sea services support the national defense of the United States and freedom of the seas.
