Marine Corps Master Gunnery Sergeant Damion Martin, the Senior Watch Chief, briefs families from the command about PANAMAX 2016 at Joint Base San Antonio, Fort Sam Houston, Texas.
PANAMAX 2016 is a Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff approved, Southern Command sponsored, multi-national regional exercise. Nineteen nations from within and outside the area of operations participated. The focus of PANAMAX is to provide a regional approach to maintaining and securing free and open access to the Panama Canal. The exercise was conducted 24 July – 06 August, 2016.
Marines throughout Force Headquarters Group (FHG), a major subordinate command of Marine Forces Reserve, augmented the joint staffs at United States Southern Command and Multinational Forces South for PANAMAX 2016.
