An MH-60 Jayhawk helicopter aviation survival technician is lowered down to the crew of a 47-foot Motor Lifeboat from Station Tillamook Bay during a training evolution in the Pacific Ocean near Garibaldi, Ore., Aug. 24, 2016.

An aviation survival technician also referred to as a rescue swimmer is often deployed out of a helicopter to provide assistance to ailed or injured persons.
