Officers and non-commissioned officers of the North Carolina National Guard conducted a leadership conference here, Aug. 20-21, 2016. More than 300 citizen-Soldiers and Airmen were in attendance including 19 general officers and four state representatives. Army Gen. Robert Abrams, FORSCOM commander, recognized a four-man tank crew of the 1st-252nd Armor Regiment for winning the Sullivan Cup tank gunnery competition in May.
