YOKOSUKA, Japan (Aug. 13, 2016) Machinist’s Mate 3rd Class (SW) Kaleb Burns shows Machinist’s Mate Fireman Jodie Ridgell how to properly cut stanchion wire rope with a wire cutter on the flight deck of the USS Ronald Reagan (CVN 76). The rope fits through stanchions surrounding the flight deck’s aircraft elevators to help prevent falls.
