Staff Sgt. Clyde Ginn guides Staff Sgt. Jeffrey Bowman as he uses a backhoe to dig up dirt during construction of a new carrier yard to be used by private shipping companies at Joint Base Balad, Iraq, April 27. Both are equipment operators with the 557th Expeditionary Rapid Engineer Deployable Heavy Operation Repair Squadron of Engineers. Ginn is deployed from Key Field Air National Guard Base, Miss., and is a native of Meridian, Miss. RED HORSE is an elite Air Force engineer squadron, whose main function is to take a strip of uninhabited land and turn it into a fully functioning base with running water, shelters and power.
