160727-N-CV785-142 DA NANG, Vietnam (July 27, 2016) U.S. Ambassador to Vietnam Ted Osius and Tuong Lai Special School of Da Nang City principal, Duy Quy Nguyen, cut the ribbon to mark the completion of restoration work carried out at the school. U.S. Navy Seabees and Japanese Maritime Self Defence Force personnel, alongside Pacific Partnership volunteers painted the school and refurbished the outdoor garden beds over a course of two weeks. The team is in Da Nang where hospital ship USNS Mercy (T-AH 19) is joined by JS Shimokita (LST-4002) and Vietnam People's Navy ship Khánh Hóa. Partner nations are working side-by-side with local organizations to conduct cooperative health engagements, community relation events and subject matter expert exchanges to better prepare for natural disaster or crisis.
