Lt. Col. Gary Esson, the fire and emergency medical advisor to the Iraq Civil Defense Directorate, assigned to 414th Civil Affairs Battalion, 1st Armored Division, checks out the inside of an ambulance, April 22. The ambulance was given to the Iraq Civil Defense Directorate after U.S. forces refurbished it. It is the first ambulance inside the International Zone.
